For the first time in history, the translation process between English and Carsiekan will be fully automated. A website will soon be launched which will include an easy to use dictionary and possibly a direct text translator. For the first time, novices will be able to generate sentences in the language and translate them back to English in seconds, allowing rapid learning and easy promotion of the language.

The regeneration of Carsiekan fluency in DaeZig is made inevitable, not possible, by the development of this website. Carsiekan will again be a healthy secondary language and the largest micronational language.

Vamont Cina is officially nuts, if it wasn’t already. Recently elected Community Administrator Lord Sicone Vamont is considering a most unorthodox candidate as his deputy: a limited artificial intelligence construct.

Already providing a wide array of services to DaeZig, the time-honored Aurora services bot now looks forward to possible appointment as Secondary Community Administrator of Vamont. Why? No one really knows. Apparently an administrator does not need to be sentient in order to perform her (its) duties, as virtually any action taken by an administrator can be imitated by a few lines of code.

Lord Vamont’s eccentric obsession with AI goes back to the mid 2000s, when he had his girlfriends pretend to be androids in order to impress his colleagues. Replacing his friend of seven years, Lord Breaker, with an AI bot, is only the latest record.

For now, the appointment is only under consideration. In the event that it occurs, there are plenty of forces which could stop it, ranging from the Vamontian citizenry to the Empress herself. It is important to remember, however, that this is DaeZig. If no one is in a bad mood when Aurora is appointed, if she is appointed, it is entirely possible that the Vamont Cina will welcome its first artificial administrator.

Very few things are known to upset the DaeZig political equilibrium. Be it war, social upheaval, administrative schisms or otherwise, there are very few things known to provoke genuine panic or uncertainty throughout the entire system. DaeZig is a machine which has shown itself to be eerily content with any situation it finds itself in. Perhaps ironically the exception to this, the one thing DaeZig can not get used to, is the passage of time itself.

The Council of Lords was caught awestruck dumb when it learned that Empress Daesiga, its faithful master for three years, had resigned. Lord Sakon, a man known for his composure and formal attitude, found himself in tears. Lord Entibo, in a usual bout of bizarre behavior, resisted the urge to go around handing out black armbands (in /me, of course). DaeZig neither wanted to nor had a plan to replace Empress Daesiga, who was expected to reign until at least 2015.

Empress Daesiga, now Xaoutiui Daesiga, resigned on October 9, stating that the actions of Maleificus in 2010 had made her feel like a figurehead and that she had been unable to recover from that.

The Imperial Sovereign of DaeZig is, in fact, far from a figurehead. The Imperial Sovereign is an all-powerful figure whose will, no matter what it may be, is taboo to defy. Only the democratically elected Overseer and the Director of the Black Army can openly oppose the sovereign without risking political isolation. It is perhaps for this reason that DaeZig was apprehensive, almost unwilling to replace a sovereign who was so lenient that she mistook herself for a figurehead and whose record setting 3 year reign had defined the DaeZig political environment for generations.

The ascendant, Lord Rene, stepped out of the shadows to claim a throne that she had been promised back in 2009. Empress Rene comes from the same generation as Daesiga, “newer” by a number of months.

With the Zaegunsak many times rewritten during the reign of Daesiga, it is likely that the political process will remain much the same. What is absolutely certain, though, is that DaeZig must adjust to this new era. After all, if someone can adapt to the concept of a cyber-state, they can adapt to anything. That is the way of DaeZig.

A recent purge of inactive ZNC accounts by VacantMinded Computer Services revealed a large number of Sinsirans having abandoned their ZNC accounts and gone inactive. This, coupled with recent examinations of IndoSinsira which found the community to have declined in activity since 2010, show a general downward trend in Sinsira’s overall population and activity base. Sinsira’s active population, once estimated at over 200, has now visibly dropped to between 70 and 110. The Sinsiran Community Administration has said that it does not have a plan to reverse this trend.

Meanwhile, outside of Sinsira, DaeZig administrators have voiced differing opinions on the Sinsiran situation. “We must find a way to remedy this,” said a nervous-sounding Lord Sakon, District Administrator of Lorense and one of DaeZig’s longest-serving veteran staff. Vamontian Community Administrator Lord Vamont, Sakon’s e-father and former Emperor of DaeZig, expressed a completely different viewpoint. “Over the years, the DaeZig population has fluctuated. A few dozen one moment, a few hundred the next, then back and fourth endlessly. This is normal,” he stated.

Empress Daesiga has repeatedly called for population growth, but with stability being treated as paramount, very few realistic plans have been put forward. “You link a server [to an IRC network], then it’s a fight to see who controls the network,” remarked one external observer, adding that “[the DaeZig administration] does not seem like the kind of people who like losing any of their control.”

IRC links which threaten DaeZig’s absolute sovereignty over its cyberspace are considered to be detrimental, with the potential of rendering the country a failed state. Sinsira has always been very cautious of IRC links and has not hesitated to eject administrators and servers viewed as potentially antipatriotic. Keeping this in mind, if the community ever felt the dire need to expand its population base, it would have a virtually endless number of compliant communities to suck up. It is perhaps this security that keeps Sinsirans and their administration content with their dipping population. In any case, the general consensus within the DaeZig administration is that, as this news agency has asserted many times before, DaeZig is invincible. Population dips do not change this, regardless of whether they are an issue in need of a “remedy” or simply “normal”.

In the past months, there has been a surge of effort from DaeZig’s roleplaying leaders, veterans and experts to try and bring DaeZig back to RP life.

On the Internet, there are many communities who exist mainly inside text-based virtual worlds. DaeZig has historically had one foot into this practice, which was largely pioneered by otakus in the 2000s. In the stagnation that was the later Silvian era, most of DaeZig’s seasoned roleplayers vanished from the spot and took their skills and content with them. The Administration has long lived in denial of this cultural death, continuing to prop up dormant roleplaying communities like the Imperial Guard and the DaeZae RPers. Recently, the Administration has aligned itself with reality and made surgical attempts to patch together all remaining “ATL-Canon” communities (communities whose games fall into the oldest universe, “ATL”). The result has been a complete failure.

Anyone who has wandered into #Relay on the IRC server of Vamont’s Risardya District or Sinsira’s #Forest_of_the_Daezaeka will have seen an odd sight: a tiny pack of administrators and other individuals trying to arrange their schedules to participate in “mass” roleplays. It is somewhat ironic that the overwhelmingly vast majority of DaeZigs neither know nor care about the art of roleplaying, especially since DaeZig was founded by roleplayers.

With the obvious failure of the last ditch “jump starting” effort currently faltering, DaeZig faces the prospect of having to restart. Restart what? It’s important to know what exactly is going on.

The DaeZig roleplaying universe, or “ATL timeline” is a massively detailed roleplaying canon which has been formed over the course of nearly a decade. With content added by dozens of players over such a long period, most of whom are long gone, it is becoming increasingly difficult to pass the game on. Founders of the universe have largely given up, as the task of teaching became “overwhelming” as universe co-founder Lord Breaker put it when he bailed out in 2008.

As Breaker’s co-player, Vamontian Community Administrator Lord Vamont is saying (or rather threatening), DaeZig will have to kill what amounts to a national roleplaying timeline and start from scratch with new timelines created by newly created networks of individuals. “The plan was to get roleplaying leaders and experts playing,” he explained, “and then bring other individuals into the roleplay and essentially rebuild the old DaeZig roleplaying community.”

“No one seems interested in doing their jobs. So this is how it is: five more days for leaders to lead and experts to contribute, or there will be no ATL. We’ll kill it. I, and Lord Breaker too, we’ll refuse to teach people anything. All articles on the subject will be deleted from our cyberspace. The entire ATL timeline will be dead, killed, all except for the Daezaeka Order which will inherit it, and only their material will remain,” said Vamont.

The Daezaeka Order, DaeZig’s most well-known roleplaying group, is having its own inactivity crisis, but protected from disestablishment by the Zaegunsak and currently under restoration after a long hiatus by its Commander, it is well postured to fill the space left by the rest of the esteemed ATL players. “Lately I’ve been mingling with a different RP community, and this shows promise, both in canon and otherwise. I’m hoping a friendly relationship between both communities will bring more [recruiting potential],” Lady Rene, the Daezaeka Commander who now works totally alone to rebuild her Order, said.

Tens of thousands are taking to the streets across America to voice their opposition to a government they consider corrupt and completely out of control. In a movement modeled after the recent Egyptian Revolution, a core group of hundreds of protesters has occupied parts of New York City and launches daily marches which routinely draw in thousands of people. In other cities across the country, the same scene is unfolding.

What began as a small and poorly coordinated protest has developed to borderline unrest. Protests against bankers, protests against war, protests to avenge the death of Troy Davis, all launched from the Internet and all loosely united in their cause. The American government, clearly frightened, has reacted with a futile hard-handed response: over 800 arrests in total, levels of arrests comparable to those in Middle Eastern countries amidst the continuing Arab Spring.

Lord Sakon voiced his opinion on the matter. “Since the civil rights movements, and the cold war, people have been beginning to fight for themselves [...] Like the time[s] of old, people are finally tired of those that are in control and are taking back control. This was long overdo. America is truely the longest living government for a REASON. They showed their people an idea which seemed like freedom then SCREWED THEM,” Sakon asserted. “Therefore, they are taking that ideal and making it a reality. As it should be, honestly,” he added, showing his DeathZig sense of irony.

Sakon also spoke of the issue from a foreign policy vantage point after he acknowledged the role of Anonymous in organizing the protests, Anonymous, which has shown support for micronations in the past: “4chan was a bomb waiting to go off [...] The current leaders of the United States don’t respect us. If [a 4chan-led movement] in charge means a greater chance for DaeZig to get the respect it deserves, then I back [the revolution].”

Whether or not a revolutionary American government would respect micronations, DaeZig would be very happy with any situation in which corruption in the United States was lessened. The people of the world can not be treated as livestock, and more and more it is becoming apparent that even in this new age of technology, there is no force which can overcome the will of the people.

With the polls now closed in Sinsira, the results are in. The Valstrazian Ziggist Conservative Party through September won an overwhelming victory in the final phase of DaeZig’s multi-month elections. Lord Kabaka smashed Lord Entibo by a brutal 25-2 margin in the first democratic competition for the position of Sinsira Community Administrator. For Overseer, Kabaka outpaced Lord Maleificus and Lord Sakon respectively 20-4-3.

It was widely predicted that Sinsira’s population size would prove decisive in the first DaeZig elections, but in fact IndoSinsiran join-parting tendencies often made it a game of cat and mouse to collect the vote at all. Given the results, however, it would not appear that things would have been much different if the vote had been collected by welcome script. The immense margin by which the VZCP candidates won these past few months demonstrates that the vast majority of DaeZigs are either partial to their administrators or have had enough of violent and botched attempts to change the policy status quo.

The Valstrazian Ziggist Conservative Party doctrine of conservatism, libertarianism and pragmatism bodes well with virtually every section of the DaeZig citizenry and cellphone-touting denizenry. “Baptized in battle’s flames”, a line from the DaeZig anthem well describes even the most recent generations of DaeZigs who recently endured a year of eccentric management by a man who once called himself a prophet.

There was quiet concern among the administration about the idea that DaeZig citizens, not much different than other Internet dwellers, might not be understanding of the democratic concept. Indeed, 18 people ignored the message containing the ballot or voiced opinions exactly down those lines which ranged from fear that the ballot was some kind of purge tool to a simple dislike of making choices between members of their community. Needless to say, more people voted than didn’t and those who didn’t never expressed any direct dislike of democracy being applied to online communities.

It is needless to say that DaeZig’s first elections turned out ~exactly as hoped~, especially for the Valstrazian Ziggist Conservative party which indeed was responsible for the democratic Zaegunsak. The party’s already-ruling administrators swore amongst themselves to abide by that constitution and comply with the outcome of the polls no matter what it turned out to be and intend to do so for the next elections and all subsequent elections after that as DaeZig again braves her way in the opposite direction of the rest of the Internet, this time speeding down a democratic path in which the cyberspace belongs to the people.

DaeZig’s next administrative elections will be held in 2013.

Sinsira has lifted its block of Mibbit, ending its part in a campaign to protest against what is seen as questionable behavior by many in the world of IRC. It is again possible to connect to Sinsira’s IRC servers via the Mibbit WebIRC service.

Mibbit was recently accused by a faction of the Anti Security movement of spying on its users, collecting user passwords and storing user financial information. This caused a backlash which some experts predicted would bring the service down. Defying such predictions, Mibbit remains active today and appears as if it will be part of the IRC world for the foreseeable future.

Voice of DaeZig has interviewed Lord Sakon, one of the longest standing political figures in DaeZig. Sakon is a member of the Council of Lords and a former director of the FinalZig Union.

Though 2006 may not have seemed like a long ago year in 2008, when large sections of the present DaeZig population joined the nation, the DaeZig of 2006 was a world away from the DaeZig of 2008. The titanic events of 2005-2006 dwarf by far anything that has happened in the half-decade since, and due to the sheer level of resulting chaos, very few who were active back then stuck around to tell about it. Lord Sakon, one of those few who proved adept to the atmosphere of late 2006, has stepped up to talk about it.

Lord Sakon became a member of what is now the DaeZig nation at a time when it was a ruthless Ziggist dictatorship waging endless war against the Internet. As an ordinary member, he watched as ideological factions clashed and rouge administrators committed violations of Internet norms so severe that they would leave DaeZig’s modern administrators reeling for breath. He fought in military campaigns from NIKOnet to 4chan to Gaia Online, and his constant demonstrations of loyalty put him on the road to the FinalZig Union’s top office. Now Sakon reflects, looking from now to then and from then to now and giving his perspective on modern DaeZig.

Voice of DaeZig: Coming out of old FinalZig, what are your thoughts on the monarchy?

Lord Sakon: Hasn’t changed much. Sure DaeZig’s name is different, and now it’s a lot more organized, but none the less it’s all the same. If anything, this whole idea of voting makes me laugh. People are biased by nature. A person can spend their entire life studying to become a perfect leader on any level, but due to something so simple as his appearance or habits, which in no way shape or form affect his ability to lead, could knock him out of the race. Look at America for an example to what I refer to.

Voice of DaeZig: As someone who has met Lord Death, what would you say about the man?

Lord Sakon: His ideals were sound, but his methods were rash. He was young back then. I personally feel, that today’s DaeZig would greatly benefit from his return.

Voice of DaeZig: What is the main thing that you want to see DaeZig do right now?

Lord Sakon: It has always been my hope that DaeZig can migrate from a micronation based soley on the web, to (in one form or another) branch into the real world.

Voice of DaeZig: So you would want to see a return of Rexinas, localized real-world groups of DaeZigs, in general something like that? Or something different?

Lord Sakon: The revival of Rexinas would be a good start. I know that personally, once my own real-world finances are fixed, one of my goals will be working towards building a Rexina. This is of course a personal project, and upon it’s complexion, shall be put forward by the council to gain full Rexina standings.

Voice of DaeZig: What are your thoughts on the “strongmen” Vamont and Kabaka? Are they the kind of leaders you want to see in DaeZig? Do you think they are obedient enough to the people and the throne? You are presently running for Overseer, but Kabaka has as high as a 20-5 lead on you. How do you feel about this?

Lord Sakon: As I stated before, peoples opinions on leaders are what truely defines their attitudes towards voting. The main reason why I even entered the race was to truly see how much I would be remembered to the people. As for Vamont, I have known him for a very long time; as a friend, an e-father, and as a general. I have full trust that he works endlessly to protect and nurture Daezig. So yes to him. As for Kabaka I’ve only spoken to the man on few occasions. However, I have seen his work and I believe that speaks louder than any words we could have shared.

Voice of DaeZig: You have just criticized democracy a number of times. What do you have to say about DaeZig’s human rights? This can be a touchy issue for a veteran. What do you have to say about human rights in general when they enable conflict with Ziggism?

Lord Sakon: Tsk. Ziggism is perfection. Some of those that I have spoken to about it, have called it a mixture of humanism and socialism and it is those things for a reason. It is the ideaology of humanity! Without the few traces of it that we see in today’s philosophy, or those that were popular before our times, humanity would have killed itself off long ago. I have nothing personal against democracy, I simply am aware of the human condition to an extent that I know it is a faulty system. The ones that are being elected by the people are people themselves. They vote because they person offers something that they want, be it possible or not! 98% of the people voting have never been in a leadership position! They don’t know the responsibility or commitment! The heartache over not being provide what they promised. So no, I would rather not have it active in DaeZig. I would rather that those in power choose who joins their ranks because they know the burden of leadership first hand. Therefore, they can see the traits which are best held by those who can survive in such a position!

Voice of DaeZig: Was it then a mistake what your e-sister, Snow, did as far as reforming the DaeZig government into a liberal one, and was it a mistake to reform the Ziggist ideology, to liberalize it to the point it has been liberalized since the fall of the old FinalZig?

Lord Sakon: I don’t love the old FinalZig. If anything, it’s because of those reformations that DaeZig has survivied for so long and has grown to such an extent. That does not however, change. I am giving you my opinions in these questions, filled with emotions and passions. I am not blind to logic. So, no, I do not think it was a mistake. I come from a different time is all. I just think it could have been done with more.. finese. Keeping to the original to a closer extent.

The execution of a man convicted of killing a police officer two decades ago could trigger riots from his vast support base. Troy Davis, a Georgia state man, has been at the center of a long-winding legal battle ever since he was accused of the murder of Officer Mark MacPhail in Savannah, Georgia.

Though the legal system has repeatedly found Davis guilty, Davis commands a massive support base. He is a rallying point for those who see racial injustice in the United States. He is an idol for those opposed to capital punishment. Killing this man would serve to anger huge masses across the political and demographic spectrum. With so many protest movements in the world today and with the United States remaining a political tinderbox, a state should think twice about killing such a figure.

“If they execute Troy Davis, I’ll be in Atlanta tomorrow to riot,” one man commented on an online forum, his words echoing dozens of others. Protesters from Los Angeles to New York have been demanding a pardon for a man they say was wrongly accused of murder in a state that still gives out the death penalty.

Regardless of whether Davis is innocent or guilty, there may well be a “big ugly mess” on the streets of America tonight.

An IRC network for the cult hit TV series “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” made IRC history yesterday, blasting from a modest 290 users to a stunning 1,500. This placed the network, for a time, into the ranks of the top 20 largest IRC networks.

The network, PonyChat, had prepared for mass use for several days leading up to the event, having obtained a large number of servers from various different providers. Still, the “bronies” (as they call themselves, a combination of “bro” and “pony”) did not seem to anticipate something so large. The activity, spurred by the release of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Season 2″, was so massive that a major channel had to set up backup channels to handle the chatter.

“My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic”, the work of noted producer Lauren Faust, was originally intended for a narrow audience of young girls. It is widely accepted, however, that Faust injected too much intelligence into the series for it to be confined to such a young viewer base. The series exploded on the Internet in a way that has been compared to the success of Japanese anime.

The Vamont Cina has declared itself a community without rules in accordance with popular libertarian sentiment in both the community and the democratically elected administration. Modern Vamont has never had an organized system of community laws, but the step to a total peopledom is new. Vamont’s sole community rules now consist of (1) the requirement that all newcomers register for DaeZig citizenship in one way or another (2) a circumstantially enforced ban on cross-population with other DaeZig Cinas (communities).

Vamont has thus transcended online norms in yet another way, now effectively becoming a managed anarchy. Member disputes will be left to the members to settle unless the members want the administration to settle them. The community, which half-heartedly aspires for growth, has declared that the decision to implement this administration style will not be reversed regardless of how large the community becomes. As Vamont is run democratically, it will be up to the community at large to decide whether or not this new system survives.

After a multi-month delay caused by a generic administrative lull, the Sinsiran part of the 2011 Administrative Elections started today. Sinsirans will elect their top administrator and complete the process of picking DaeZig’s first democratically elected Overseer.

For Community Administrator, Sinsirans have Lord Kabaka (incumbent) and Lord Entibo to choose from. For Overseer, they have Lord Kabaka (incumbent), Lord Maleificus and Lord Sakon.

For Overseer, Lord Maleificus won the earlier Vamontian vote by a 5-4-4 margin. Sinsira’s population is, however, much larger than Vamont’s and most Sinsirans strongly support their longtime Community Administrator, Lord Kabaka.

As with the Vamontian race, the Sinsiran election will run for exactly one month in order to ensure maximum turnout. When this election is complete, DaeZig will become one of few Internet communities who can legitimately claim that their cyberspace belongs to their members, not their administrators.

WebIRC service Mibbit has been autokilled by Sinsira’s IRC servers as the result of an ongoing scandal in which Mibbit has been accused of spying on its users, stealing credit card information and stockpiling account passwords.

The present scandal follows on the heels of previous accusations against Mibbit which have resulted in at least one other block and potentially more throughout IRC.

Mibbit has been repeatedly urged by at least one IRC service developer to present its service’s code for examination by the broader IRC community.

Meanwhile, DaeZig Overseer Lord Kabaka has stated that he believes Mibbit will suffer disaster as a result of the present scandal. “This is going to kill Mibbit,” said Kabaka publicly in the main IRC channel of Sinsira.

To alleviate the organizational deficiencies often suffered by the August 1st holiday celebrations, DaeZig will be redesigning its August 1st tradition.

For years, August 1st has been marred by poor coordination of government and military personnel responsible for celebrations, namely the people organizing the Black Army bot displays which the holiday is known for. “It’s a tradition, but the organizational problems are immense. It’s impossible to have everyone on and paying attention at the same time, and it’s really sad when you pause what you are doing to watch the thing only to have insert random individual be five minutes late,” remarked the official responsible for coordinating this year’s bot displays.

“It is a lot easier to stretch the celebrations out over a week, instead of trying to cram them into one day,” he said. “I’ve always felt tense on August 1st,” he added.

The new plan will stretch the displays and other celebrations out over the course of one week starting on August 1st and abandon all but basic scheduling elements. This will take the pressure off of all parties involved and make August 1st more enjoyable, opening the door to greater festivities in the future.

On the subject of the date, Voice of DaeZig would like to remind everyone in advance that this post was made on August 1st, 2011. Time zone differences may at times cause an article to appear as being posted a day later than it was actually posted.

A collapse of the U.S. financial system would be unacceptable, as it affects not only the United States, but other countries as well. The United States, the largest economy in the world, is one of the primary hubs of the larger global economy. Anything which affects it may soon affect others, bringing about a domino effect which could put the world in peril.

The issue at hand is seemingly trivial, but the consequences could be immense. Congress is struggling to reach a compromise to increase the nation’s debt limit, which has effectively been hit. If there is no increase in the limit, the nation will be unable to borrow money to pay for itself. At that point, government funding will collapse and the nation’s economy will begin to fall apart, or so the economists say.

China’s Xinhua News Agency commented on the issue, stating that the United States had been “kidnapped” by “irresponsible politics”. China is presently urging Washington to get its act together. Congress must compromise.

A blow to the world economy would also affect the Internet negatively, DaeZig included. Should the present situation in Cogress cause a debt default as described above, and should politicians in Washington be unable to pull out of the default in a timely manner, online businesses will begin to collapse. Should this happen, the happy and healthy Internet we know today could face hardships of unprecedented scale.

Lord Vamont has publicly stated that there is no conflict of interests between DaeZig and Anonymous and has reaffirmed that the Internet stands united. “There has been no conflict between DaeZig and Anonymous since 2006. That war, while regrettable, does not affect our policy today,” Vamont stated, in reference to a 2006 cyberwar.

“The [anti-DaeZig] video on YouTube was made by Entropian drug addicts and does not reflect relations between DaeZig and the [typical member] of Anonymous. It was made by a drug addict in an attempt to start a cyberwar. Google will demonstrate this, though no one watches the video anyway,” Vamont continued.

“The Internet stands united as it always has, more or less. We may disagree sometimes, but when the outside world, the Simpletons try to interfere in one community’s affairs, it becomes everyone’s problem,” he finished.

“They fold like a house of cards,” the FBI chief says. “[They're] looking at 20 years for hacking into the CIA Web site.”

The rouge governments of the world, in an attempt to save themselves from humiliation and hide their decades of lies from their people, have declared war on Anonymous. Twenty thousand or so Internet denizens now stand before the combined resources of dozens of countries. These cyber-denizens have no guns. They have no declared or recognized sovereignty. Many of them don’t even have a driver’s license. But to quote them directly, they’re not sacred.

Their words make the people of the world smile. “We are not scared any more. Your threats to arrest us are meaningless to us as you cannot arrest an idea. Any attempt to do so will make your citizens more angry until they will roar in one gigantic choir. It is our mission to help these people and there is nothing — absolutely nothing — you can possibly to do make us stop.”

The world’s so-called governments do not comprehend the power of the Internet. They fear it, but they do not fear it enough. There is no longer just the threat of information leakage. There is an existential threat.

Anonymous, known at every corner of the Internet as a wild and chaotic entity, is not a “group of hackers”. It is a second world superpower, capable of undoing even the United States. The United States needs to understand and accept this, back down from its aggressive position and submit to the moral guidelines presented by Anonymous.

Anonymous has a limitless supply of manpower and cyber-resources. Any attempt to stifle the superpower will end in pathetic failure while the Internet laughs from the sidelines. Anonymous can win in battle against the United States without firing a shot or even leaving its computer desk. The world’s most arrogant power, however, is likely incapable of understanding this.

The results are in! With a 70% turnout of active Vamontians, the 2011 Administrative Elections in Vamont ended in an overwhelming victory for Lord Vamont as Vamontian Community Administrator. Vamont won 10-3 over the opposition candidate in his first ever fair democratic battle. Lord Maleificus defeated both Lord Kabaka and Lord Sakon in a less impressive dual 5-4 outcome.

Lord Maleificus’ victory is unlikely to go beyond Vamont, depending on what happens in the delayed Sinsiran vote. Sinsirans widely support their Community Administrator and massively outnumber their Vamontian kin. Even with an absolute minimal turnout, Sinsirans could easily defeat the Vamontian outcome, even though Vamontian turnout was 70%.

The start date of the Sinsiran election has not been announced, but it is expected to run for a month and start before the end of the present month. The reasons for the delay are not known, but what is known is that it will go ahead.

On June 15 of 2011, our Empress Daesiga graduated highschool, marking, from an educational perspective, her ascension to adulthood.

Four years ago on that day, Empress Silvia won victory in the War of Unification, founding the DaeZig Empire in an event that marked the end of over a year of chaos for the DaeZig people, ushering in a matured state which would guide the nation to the present day.

Twenty-six years ago on that same day, Johnathan and the Lazars are known to have held one of a series of meetings discussing the creation of the Carsiekan state.

According to Carsiekan lore, the Kingdom of Carsieka was sanctioned by “Heaven” when a “stone from the moon” (Carsi Stone) fell into the Salinas riverbed, triggering a visionary episode in the man who would leave the riverbed determined to found the kingdom. Found it he did, but it collapsed 13 years later. In the wake of the collapse, the “stone from the moon” fell into the hands of a certain prince. Everyone knows this story, and one thing this news agency tries not to be is redundant.

Because that prince, or rather Lord Vamont as he is now called, handed off DaeZig to Lord Silvia, he effectively transferred the stone’s “divinity” onwards. After all, if the stone had actually been sent by heaven, one is to imagine that its arrival in Vamont’s hands had to be intended.

Now, years after Lord Silvia in turn handed over DaeZig to the present Empress, the events of June 15 have taken place. The divinely instated Empress’ graduation ceremony marked by a lunar eclipse, on the day our Carsiekan successor state was founded, on the day a meeting was held about the founding of Carsieka itself. An interesting set of coincidences.

If this was 1990s Carsieka, people would no doubt be using this as yet more proof of the King’s divinity, the Moon Cult in full effect. In 2010s DaeZig however, reactions by those who actually notice these events will be more subtle. Everyone clearly knows that if “Heaven” (the Carsiekans never speculated on what that was supposed to be, leaving it to people’s own belief systems to fill in) actually exists, then surely these stories do not require more proof. Of course DaeZig, with its perfect society and infallible ideology is divine! Of course the Empress is divine!

The “Moon Cult” is not necessary to modern DaeZig. DaeZig’s people clearly know that their society is one of the best in the world, that Ziggism (and world progress under its various international names) is greater than anything before. The Empress does not need to openly claim to be superior to the world’s deities. It is clear that she is, and if the events of June 15 actually mean something, then it can only be expected. Such is the viewpoint of world progress.

¡Hih-Zaul! (That’s “Hail on High”, in case the reader didn’t know. Take that, religious dogmatists!)

A slip in voting procedure by the DaeZig delegate, Lord Vamont, at the Organization of Active Micronations saved Secretary-General Philip Fish from impeachment.

In an unusually chaotic week at the Organization of Active Micronations, a Motion of No Confidence was put forward against the Secretary-General Philip Fish. The motion declared him to be in contempt of members’ sovereignty, politically corrupt and religiously intolerant.

In a long debate, seen as one of the worst in the OAM’s short history, diplomats from various micronations began throwing insults at each other. DaeZig’s delegate sought to distance her from the “commotion”, putting forward an abstention to the Motion of No Confidence. When the idiocy reached its peak, Vamont moved to oppose the motion.

Later in this most idiotic episode of OAM politics, Vamont again changed DaeZig’s vote to “abstain”, but the vote was invalid due to a procedural error. Vamont had failed to specify whether he was abstaining from voting on the original motion or a later amendment, proposed by New Guinea. This resulted in a 15-15 outcome which invalidated the motion and allowed Philip Fish to retain his position. Since the failure of the motion, a number of micronations of different types have withdrawn from the organization in protest. Vamont, Tsar Kuri I of Gishabrun and the delegate from New Guinea quickly criticized the withdrawals. Vamont later sent a cable to Fish, apologizing for the failed re-abstention after the 15-15 outcome surfaced and, while noting that DaeZig would have preferred to be in a neutral position, stated that he would not have been apathetic if Fish had lost his office.

Voting is now open in DaeZig. For the first time in its five and a half year history, the cyber-state is holding scheduled and completely free elections. The Overseer and all three Community Administrators will now face the polls in what will be a deciding month for DaeZig. The people have three options to choose from: The status quo under the Valstrazian Ziggist Conservative Party, a return to regimentation under the right-leaning New Iron Party or an ultra-hardline Ziggist state under the Valstraz Party.

As elections begin, it seems that the people favor the status quo. DaeZigs demonstrated their support for their present Community Administrators during the nomination period. In Sinsira, no nominations were put forward opposing the present Community Administrator, Lord Kabaka (except for a second nomination made by his own party for Lord Entibo for the purpose of giving the people two choices). Even in the the vast IndoSinsira Subcommunity, no effort was made to replace Lord Kabaka. In Vamont, things were only slightly different. Several joke nominations were put forward in addition to one made for an International Ziggist Commission worker, marking an almost definite victory for Lord Vamont. In Daezaer, which was never expected to be much of a contest, only Lord Kasei made it to the ballot.

The battle for the position of Overseer is almost as predictable as the other elections. Lord Kabaka was nominated by the Valstrazian Ziggist Conservative Party, Lord Maleificus by the New Iron Party and Lord Sakon at the last moment by the cobbled together Valstraz Party. Not a single nomination was put forward. “I don’t know who would be able to run it,” said one citizen, demonstrating the collective feeling when asked by his Community Administrator to make nominations. “You guys know best.”
