DaeZig joins OAM, may join LoSS

DaeZig has joined the Organization of Active Micronations (OAM) as a full member, bolstering her international recognition. Lord Vamont, present ambassador to the OAM, has expressed hopes that DaeZig will have a positive influence on the OAM. He also noted that the OAM is full of “legitimate” countries. “There are plenty of areas in which we can cooperate with other nations. The [OAM] is full of legitimate nations and we hope to have a positive influence on the organization.”

NIKOnet is also known to be considering membership in the League of Secessionist States. Lord Kabaka is projected to represent DaeZig in that organization should she join.

Leshanda Armstrong: Worst example of humanity

American woman Leshanda Armstrong has been declared 2011′s worst example of humanity, ranking slightly higher than Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi. The emotionally unstable scum drove her car into a river this week, killing herself and all but one of her children. She later decided to abort her suicide, but was too stupid to solve the simple problem of getting out of the car.

Such emotionally unstable people should never be allowed to have children, and frankly people without survival skills who can not care for their children in such situations as a sinking vehicle should not be allowed to raise children either.

50 years since Yuri Gagarin’s spaceflight, the world still stands in awe

Of the world’s first manned spaceflight, the Russian newspaper Pravda said “The heroic victory of Yuri Gagarin fifty years ago must come as the most important benchmark in the history of space travel and shall remain in the annals of space history as the beginning of Mankind’s relationship with the Cosmos.”

The Russians could not have said it better. The liftoff of the Vostok Rocket was a pivotal moment in history, the greatest accomplishment of mankind, rivaled in importance perhaps only by the moon landing eight years later.

The glorious launch is an important step every civilization must take in their mastery of technology. Space travel is absolutely vital to long-term species survival. It is doubtful that Yuri himself or any of the scientists and engineers who worked alongside him truly knew just how important Vostok 1 was. Scientific discoveries made since that spring day have revealed that mankind not only can but must conquer the stars.

YouTube forced to resort to pre-video advertising; collapse may be approaching

Pre-video advertising on YouTube costs user time and is considered harassment. When a person sits down to watch a 30 second video as they prepare to leave for work, they do not have an additional 15 seconds to watch inane advertisements for products they need not and couldn’t care less for. YouTube advertising is harassing, time consuming, provocative and unpleasant for all users.

YouTube, however, is being forced into this by a massive operating deficit. YouTube is unable to pay for the massive amounts of data transmitted over its servers.

“YouTube sends a staggering 1,000 gigabytes of data every second,” reported one blog from 2008. “YouTube spends roughly $1 million a day just to pay for the bandwidth.”

Even with its new ad campaign, some speculate that YouTube will not be able to sustain itself for another five years. “If the current rate of growth continues without substantial payout, YouTube won’t last another half-decade,” stated an anonymous source.

DaeZig, A1 establish diplomatic relations

DaeZig has established diplomatic relations with the Federated Republics of A1 as part of a campaign to build relations with countries of the “MicroWiki Sphere”. A1, a nation of 42, is widely seen as the leader of that sphere.

The “MicroWiki Sphere” is a large group of sovereign states which consider themselves “micronations”, a type of country not all that different from a Valstrazian Zae. The MicroWiki Sphere is of political importance to DaeZig, herself a country unrecognized by the world’s major governments.

DaeZig has recently sought extra support for her sovereignty. She has for years been consistently bombarded with criticism from all directions by peers who do not understand her independence. Now she is striking back diplomatically and putting her vast resources behind fellow sovereign states.
