Welcome to the Home of the Zaxanat DaeZig Zae

The Zaxanat DaeZig Zae (“The Grander DaeZig Empire”) is a micronation based on the Internet, which operates on various mediums that include forums and IRC. The Zaxanat DaeZig Zae (informally referred to as “DaeZig”) was originally based on a real-life organization, the Kingdom of Carsieka, which was created over twenty years ago as a utopic community with plans to unite the whole Southwestern United States into a single nation. After its eventual demise, DaeZig’s founder, Lord Vamont, decided to continue the traditions of Carsieka by moving it to the Internet; thus came the origins of DaeZig’s current incarnation.

The history of DaeZig from its roots in the Kingdom of Carsieka to present day is long and colorful, and spans many generations. Its history is so complicated that a nigh-scholarly level of knowledge is required to participate in any DaeZig activity. Periods of peace and expansion along with internal strife and militarism are rife within its history, just as almost all other nations in the real world have experienced in human history. Similarly, DaeZig has its own constitution (called the “Zaegunsak”), system of government, political parties, traditions and culture, and even its own language (Carsiekan).

DaeZig’s government contains both royalty (the “Imperial Circle”) and elected officials (Community Administrators). The nation’s highest tier of government is a monarchy; members of the Imperial Circle create and enforce nationwide policies. An Imperial Sovereign (an emperor or empress) is DaeZig’s highest authority and foremost ambassador. Following is the Council of Lords, whose duties include passing legislation, processing community-submitted initiatives, electing the Imperial Sovereign, and performing other administrative tasks within DaeZig. Although members of the Imperial Circle are considered “royalty” and can usually only be elected upon recommendation from current members of the Imperial Circle (although this is not always the case), Community Administrators, who handle affairs in DaeZig’s individual territories, are elected by popular vote. Each Administrator has the freedom to select his or her own staff and maintain his or her community’s own distinct identity apart from DaeZig (“sectorization”). The Overseer, DaeZig’s highest elected position, acts as the “executor of the Imperial Sovereign’s will.” He or she creates and implements policies in accordance with the current Sovereign’s vision. The Overseer is considered the highest administrative authority within DaeZig, second only to the Imperial Sovereign.

The Zaegunsak provides citizens (sometimes called “DaeZigs”) with several freedoms, such as freedom of speech, expression, opinion, and privacy, as well as freedom from personal discrimination. Several rights are also extended to DaeZig citizens, including the right to submit initiatives to the Council of Lords, the right to appeal to any Council decision, and the right to democratically elect community officials such as IRC network administrators.

DaeZig’s main hub is the Sinsira IRC network, which serves many users around the world. Other important “states” (“Cinas”) within DaeZig includes Vamont, DaeZig’s oldest community that is based in both IRC and forums. This Cina is the home to most of DaeZig’s oldest political figures. Another is Daezaer, a loosely-united collection of various forums.

The ideological foundation that DaeZig supports and attempts to bring into prominence is called “Valstrazian Ziggism.” The concept of Valstrazianism and Ziggism are two distinct ideologies that serve as the foundation of and justification for DaeZig’s existence and operations.

Ziggism emphasizes advancement in technology and medicine to the point where basic human resources are so plentiful that the concept of capitalism is moot. Race and gender, according to Ziggism, are social constructs that enslave humanity; Ziggists aim to virtually erase these social institutions of discrimination from existence in the human psyche. Ziggists also aim to reform educational institutions to include development of critical thinking and common sense at an earlier age, as well as provide a more personalized form of education for children, which would include early evaluation and training for a child’s particular skills and interests.

Valstrazianism is the method in which DaeZig asserts itself as a legitimate micronation. It asserts that if an Internet-based entity such as DaeZig gains a strong enough following — to the point where leadership and existence of a form of government is recognized — it can be considered as a legitimate nation without having to be based in the real world. This gives DaeZig the freedom to operate in a virtual world according to its own objectives, without having to concede to political, social, and economic boundaries of the real world.

Since the Internet is the “last frontier” of free information and speech, the resources that are available to DaeZig, as well as other Internet-based micronations, give it great potential for success as a legitimate political power. However, DaeZig has come to be misunderstood by many. DaeZig officials set out to better inform their audience and potential citizens about DaeZig with the implementation of this website, in hopes that this information will be useful and more accessible to those interested in DaeZig (along with micronations in general).
